When you are still developing, that is the best time to play sports. A growing child’s brain is like a sponge. It will take in all the information it can get and retain it. That’s why it’s so much easier for a child to learn a new language than an adult.
The same can be said for sports. Someone still developing will quickly adapt their bodies and minds to the demands of the sport, and they will develop into a much more athletic individual than someone who didn’t grow up playing a sport. Wrestling is an often overlooked sport when it comes to self defense. Slams can be much more lethal than strikes, and with the popularity of the sport due to its presence in high school, the chance of a person running into a wrestler can be quite high.
