The Euphrates river is one of the longest rivers in Asia that happens to run through Iraq. It originates in Turkey where it runs through Iraq and Syria before joining the Tigris river, which is connected to the Persian Gulf. Historically, this river supported many of the civilizations around it for generations, since ancient history. Because of this, there are also religious implications relating to this river. A US soldier decided a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience Christian baptism in this historic river.
