How Snitching Improves Communities

Let’s face it, nobody likes a snitch, especially when the person could be a victim of snitching. It is also seen as a sneaky and generally snake like behavior. It is the same concept of nobody liking the tattletale or the teacher’s pet. However, like any community in society, the majority will always rule.

In poorer neighborhoods such as those in the inner city, crime is rampant and collaboration with the police is looked down upon. This is the norm, and snitches get stitches. It doesn’t help that some people resort to snitching due to getting caught and under the prospect of a beneficial plea bargain if they rat. Regardless, cooperating with the police when it comes to dealing with rampant crime will help improve the community by taking out the criminals. In rich neighborhoods, ‘snitching’ is rampant, but it is called keeping the community safe.
