With the ever increasing expansion of human settlement, bears have been losing their natural habitat. As a direct consequence of this, we see more and more human-bear interaction. Dogs are loyal animals and are known to come to their owners defense at the risk of their own health. Even against a bigger threat, the dog will bravely try to take it on. Of course, this does not apply to dogs with bad owners.
We ask if they are like this naturally or if they were programmed to do this. While it’s true they were basically programmed to be loyal to humans as pack animals, that does not take away from their nature. In the future, when we have the issue of how to treat artificial sentient lifeforms, we will get the same questions.
